Web design in Brierfield
I'm a web designer and developer based in Burnley, a few minutes from Brierfield. I build fast, hand-coded websites for businesses here that sit between two towns and want to win work from both.
Getting found in Brierfield
One town, two lots of customers
Brierfield sits right on the M65 between Burnley and Nelson, which puts a Brierfield business in a handy spot. There are customers on both sides of you. A trade based here can take on work in Burnley, Nelson and Reedley without much travelling, and that's a bigger pool to fish in than most.
The catch is that your customers don't always search "Brierfield". They search "near me", or they name whichever town they happen to be standing in. So the real job isn't just having a website — it's having one that turns up whether someone's looking in Burnley or in Nelson. Get that right and the work comes from both.
That's the sort of site I build. Not a tidy brochure that sits there, but one that does some work for you — bringing in the call or the message while you're out on a job. I've built for service businesses across East Lancashire, so I know what a small firm actually needs from a website, which is usually the phone ringing more often.
Why local helps
Someone who knows the patch
A lot of sites get built by an agency the other end of the country, or through a portal where you never actually speak to the person doing the work. It can turn out fine, but you often get slow replies and a site that reads like it could belong to any town anywhere.
I'm in Burnley, the next town along. If you'd rather sit down and go through it face to face, that's easy enough to arrange. And if you'd sooner keep the whole thing to phone and email, that suits me as well — most jobs run that way.
- You deal with me — No account manager, no ticket queue, no call centre. Email me and you get me, and I get back to you.
- I know the area — I understand the customers a Brierfield trade is after, and that you want to be found across Nelson and Burnley too, not just on your own doorstep.
- Straight answers — If a feature isn't worth paying for, I'll tell you. I'd rather give you honest advice than sell you pages that do nothing.
- Easy to reach — A quick question after launch is just a call or a message, not a support ticket and a three-day wait.
How I build
Built by hand, made to last
I write every site by hand. There's no Wix or Squarespace builder behind it, and no WordPress theme weighed down with a stack of plugins that drag it to a crawl and fall over the moment one of them updates. I work in Laravel, the same framework plenty of larger firms run on, so the site stays quick, stays secure, and is easy to change down the line.
The phone comes first when I design, because that's the screen most people in and around Brierfield will be on when they find you. Pages load fast, say what they need to say, and steer people towards the thing that counts — ringing you, messaging you, or filling in a short form. Nothing clutters the way.
Search is built in rather than bolted on after. Each page is set up so Google can read what you do and the area you cover, which matters here when you're trying to show up for both Burnley and Nelson. It isn't instant and it isn't a trick, but it's done properly from the off.
Who it's for
The businesses I tend to help
Most of my work is with small, local firms that depend on people finding them and trusting them online. If that's you, we'll get along. A few of the trades I build for regularly:
Trades
Plumbers, heating engineers, electricians, builders and joiners — the ones whose week depends on the phone ringing.
Takeaways & restaurants
A clear menu, directions that make sense, and an order or booking button that actually works on a phone.
Driving schools & instructors
Calm, reassuring sites with the prices set out plainly and booking only a tap away.
Garages & car services
MOTs, repairs, detailing — sites that show the standard of the work and make booking in simple.
Salons & barbers
A smart shopfront online that shows the look, lists the prices, and keeps the booking link easy to spot.
Professional services
Accountants, consultants and the like who need a site that looks established and earns a bit of trust.
Recent work
A few sites I've built lately
None of these are in Brierfield itself, but they're the same kind of local, service-led business — and the approach carries over fine. Take a look at the live sites:
Plumbing & Heating · Burnley
SK Plumbing
A plain, get-to-the-point site for a local plumbing and heating firm. Emergency call-out and free-quote buttons kept in plain view, with WhatsApp there for the quick ones.
Visit the siteGas Safe Engineer · North West
HK Heating & Plumbing
A site built to bring in leads for a Gas Safe registered engineer, set up around local search so it shows across the North West. Boiler installs, servicing and repairs laid out clearly.
Visit the siteCar Detailing · Lancashire
BH Detailing
A mobile car detailing service covering Lancashire. The site shows the standard of the work and lets people book in with a quick call or a WhatsApp message.

I handle the launch, test it on real phones, and can keep an eye on it for you afterwards.
Questions
Web design in Brierfield — the common questions
How much does a website cost for a Brierfield business?
It comes down to how big the site is and what you need it to do. A neat site for a small trade or shop usually starts in the low hundreds, and the price climbs if you want extras like online booking or a lot of pages. Either way I work the job out properly first and give you a fixed price in writing, so there are no surprises once we start.
Do I have to be in Brierfield for you to build my site?
No. I'm in Burnley, only a few minutes down the road, so if you'd sooner meet and talk it over in person we can. But most of a project happens over the phone, email and a preview link I share with you, so I never actually need to meet a lot of my clients.
Can you get my Brierfield business found on Google?
That's a big part of the job. Sitting between Burnley and Nelson, you've got two towns of customers to aim at, so I build the site so Google understands what you do and the area you cover. That gives you a fair shot at turning up for searches in both. No one can promise the top spot straight away, but the right setup is there from the start.
Will it work properly on a phone?
Yes, and I build the phone version first. That is where most people will find you, so the site is designed for a small screen before anything else and then opened out for laptops. It loads quickly and the call and message buttons sit where a thumb can reach them.
Can you rebuild the website I already have?
Usually, yes. If your current site is slow, looks dated, or just isn't bringing the work in, I can rebuild it. Where it makes sense I'll hang on to the pages that are already pulling people in from Google, so you don't slip backwards while we sort the rest out.
Do you keep the site running after it goes live?
Only if you want me to. Some people are happy to take it on at launch, others would rather I deal with updates, backups and the odd change as things move on. There's an optional monthly arrangement for that, and you're not tied in for the long haul.
Thinking about a website for your Brierfield business?
Tell me what you're after and I'll come back with a clear, fixed price. No pressure, and no jargon.
