Web design in Blackpool

I'm a web designer and developer based over in Burnley. I build fast, hand-coded websites for Blackpool businesses — the kind that make booking or calling simple, so visitors choose you instead of scrolling past.

Getting found in Blackpool

Your website is the first impression

Blackpool runs on visitors, and most of them decide where they're staying or eating on their phone before they ever arrive. They search, they tap through a few sites, and they book the one that loads quickly and makes it obvious how to get in touch. More often than not, that website is the first thing a customer sees of your business — before the room, before the food, before you.

A site's job is to be there at that moment and make booking or calling the easy thing to do. That's what I build. Not a brochure that sits there looking smart, but a site that's bringing you enquiries while you're behind the bar or out on a job.

I've built sites for service businesses across Lancashire, so I know what a small business actually needs from one. Usually it's more bookings and more calls — not a stack of pages nobody reads.

Why local helps

Someone who knows the coast

A lot of websites get put together by an agency a long way off, or through a portal where you never actually speak to the person doing the work. It can do a job, but it tends to mean slow replies and a site that could just as easily be for anywhere — with none of the feel of a Fylde Coast business.

I'm in Burnley, which is an easy run over to the coast. If you'd sooner sit down and go through it in person, we can. And if you'd rather keep it to the phone and email, that suits me fine too — most projects run that way without any fuss.

  • You deal with me — No account manager, no ticket queue, no call centre. When you email, you get me, and I reply.
  • I know the area — I understand the visitor a Blackpool hotel, café or trade is chasing, and the spots nearby — Lytham St Annes, Poulton-le-Fylde, Fleetwood and Cleveleys — you likely want work from too.
  • Straight answers — If a feature isn't worth paying for, I'll tell you. I'd rather give you honest advice than sell you things you won't use.
  • Easy to reach — A quick question after launch — say, mid-season — does not turn into a support ticket. You can just call or message me.

How I build

Coded by hand, built to last

I write every site by hand. No drag-and-drop builders like Wix, and no WordPress theme weighed down with a dozen plugins that drag it to a crawl and fall over when one of them updates. I work with Laravel, the same framework plenty of bigger companies trust, which keeps a site quick, secure and simple to change down the line.

The phone comes first, because that's where most people in Blackpool will land on you. The pages load fast, read clearly, and steer people towards the thing that counts — booking, calling, or sending a quick message. Nothing cluttering the way, nothing to scroll past.

Search gets thought about from the off, not bolted on later. I set each page up so Google can work out what you offer and that you're on the Fylde Coast, which is what gives you a proper chance of showing up when someone searches before they book. It's not instant and it's not magic, but it's laid down right at the start.

Who it's for

The businesses I tend to help

Plenty of my work is with the hospitality side that keeps Blackpool ticking, and just as much with the trades and services that work the town all year round. If people find you online and decide there and then whether to trust you, we'll get on fine. A few of the kinds of business I build for:

Hotels, B&Bs & guest houses

Rooms shown off well, rates laid out plainly, and an enquiry or booking button that works the second someone lands on their phone.

Cafés, takeaways & restaurants

A clear menu, easy directions off the front, and an order or table-booking button that does the job on a small screen.

Attractions & seasonal trade

Opening times, prices and what to expect — kept easy for you to change as the season turns.

Taxis & transport

A simple site with the number front and centre, so a visitor stuck for a lift can call you in one tap.

Local trades

Plumbers, electricians, builders and joiners working the Fylde all year, who live or die by the phone ringing.

Salons, barbers & services

A smart shopfront online that shows the look, lists the prices, and puts the booking link where people can find it.

Recent work

A few sites I've built lately

These aren't in Blackpool, but they're the same sort of local, service-led business — and the same approach works just as well on the coast. Have a look at the live sites:

How it goes

From first chat to live site

01

Have a chat

Tell me about the business and what you need the site to do. No charge, and no hard sell.

02

Fixed quote

You get a clear price and an honest timeline in writing before any work begins.

03

Design & build

I build it and show you how it's coming along, so there's nothing unexpected at the end.

04

Go live

I handle the launch, test it on real phones, and I can keep looking after it from there.

Questions

Web design in Blackpool — the common questions

How much does a website cost for a Blackpool business?

It comes down to the size of the site and what it has to do. A neat site for a guest house, café or local trade usually starts in the low hundreds, and it climbs from there if you want something like online booking or a lot of rooms and prices to manage. I price every job up front, so you get a fixed figure in writing before I start.

I run a seasonal business — can the site handle the busy summer?

Yes. A site built properly will cope fine whether it's a quiet January or the height of the season with the lights on. I build them to load quickly and stay up, and I can make seasonal things easy to change yourself — your rates, your opening times, or a note to say you're fully booked — so you're not chasing me every time the trade shifts.

Can people book a room or table straight from the site?

They can. For a hotel, B&B or restaurant, the booking or enquiry button is the whole point, so I make it the easy thing to do on a phone. Depending on what suits you, that can be a simple enquiry form, a click-to-call, or a link into a booking system you already use. We'll work out what fits how you run things.

Will the site work properly on a phone?

Yes, and that comes first. A lot of your visitors are searching on their phone while they sit in the car or wander along the front, so the site is built for a small screen before anything else, then scaled up for laptops. It loads fast and the call and booking buttons sit where a thumb can reach them.

Can you help my Blackpool business show up on Google?

That's a big part of why people get in touch. I build each site so Google can tell what you do and that you're on the Fylde Coast, which gives you a fair shot at turning up when a visitor searches before they book. Nobody can promise top spot straight away, but the work is done right from the start.

Can you redesign the website I already have?

Often, yes. If your current site is slow, looks dated, or just isn't bringing in bookings, I can rebuild it. Where it makes sense I'll keep the pages that are already pulling people in from Google, so you don't drop down the rankings while we put it right.
